Gate Launches Real Stock Trading, allowing users to trade stocks and ETFs from major U.S. securities markets directly on the platform using USDT. With the official launch of real stock trading services, Gate is further breaking down the barriers between crypto assets and traditional financial markets, accelerating the construction of a unified trading and asset allocation system that covers crypto assets, stocks, and global mainstream financial products.

Unlike the widely discussed models of stock tokenization and RWA (Real World Asset) mapping, Gate's newly launched stock service emphasizes real market access capabilities and compliant trading systems. Gate Stocks connects directly to major U.S. securities markets by partnering with compliant broker-dealers like Alpaca, which hold U.S. Broker-Dealer licenses and clearing qualifications. This provides users with trading services for real stocks and ETFs, rather than on-chain mapped assets or tokenized derivatives. Notably, Gate Stocks' partner broker is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), offering certain protections for client securities assets under eligible conditions, thereby further strengthening account asset security and investor protection.

In terms of trading asset coverage, compared to most tokenized stock platforms that typically support only a few hundred assets, Gate currently supports over 10,000 stocks and ETFs. These cover major U.S. securities markets and liquidity networks, including NYSE, Nasdaq, NYSE Arca, NYSE American, and BATS, providing users with richer and more comprehensive global securities asset allocation options. Structurally, Gate Stocks is independent from traditional CFD (Contracts for Difference) systems. Users buy, hold, and sell stock assets through their Gate accounts, with funds managed separately. Unlike the funding rates in perpetual contracts or swap fees and overnight holding costs in CFD products, Gate stock spot trading involves no funding rates or overnight holding fees, making it more suitable for users looking to hold U.S. stock assets for the long term.

The current product only supports market price buying and selling during trading hours. Features like margin trading and short selling will be gradually opened later. Additionally, Gate will support one-click transfer of stock assets between brokers in the future, further improving asset transfer efficiency and cross-platform management experience. Furthermore, users can centrally view and manage information on holdings, profit/loss, fund flows, and corporate actions (such as cash dividends, stock splits, reverse stock splits, etc.) within their accounts. Related returns will be automatically credited to user accounts according to platform rules.
