Odaily Planet Daily News According to data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, foreign investors' holdings of U.S. Treasury securities fell from $9.371 trillion in May to $9.299 trillion in June, a month-over-month decrease of approximately $72 billion, mainly due to reductions by Japan, the United Kingdom, and China, but still up 2.3% year-over-year.
Among them, Japan's U.S. Treasury holdings fell 2.3% month-over-month to $1.116 trillion in June, still ranking first among overseas holders; the UK's holdings fell 1% to $939.9 billion. In June, net capital inflows on a Treasury transaction basis were only $6.8 billion, down from $56.6 billion in May. (Reuters)
