The National Fraternal Order of Police Supports Latest Version of the CLARITY Act, Stating It Will Not Weaken Crypto Enforcement Capabilities
Odaily News, according to crypto reporter Eleanor Terrett, the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has sent a letter to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott and senior member Elizabeth Warren, expressing support for the latest version of the CLARITY Act.
The FOP stated that Section 10604 of the revised Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) has addressed its previous concerns regarding law enforcement authority, and that the relevant provisions will not restrict law enforcement officials' ability to investigate digital asset violations. The FOP represents over 382,000 law enforcement officers.
However, Eleanor Terrett noted that the BRCA portion in the latest version of the CLARITY Act has not actually been amended, and it remains unclear what specific "revised language" the FOP is referring to.
