Odaily Planet Daily News: The Financial Services Commission of South Korea stated that it will submit the second-stage legislative government bill of the "Digital Asset Basic Act" as soon as possible, and coordinate the release timeline of corporate crypto asset transaction guidelines with the legislative process. At the same time, it plans to regulate digital asset custody as an independent business, while maintaining a cautious stance on forcing exchanges to spin off their custody businesses. In addition, South Korea will refer to the EU's practices to provide a more convenient access mechanism for traditional financial institutions applying for virtual asset service provider licenses. Regarding the market-concerned issue of separating exchange custody businesses, the Financial Services Commission mentioned that there are currently few mandatory separation cases overseas. It tends to prevent conflicts of interest by improving conduct regulations rather than requiring exchanges to operate custody businesses independently.
