Gold and silver both rose, and European stock markets climbed higher

In terms of global stock indices, the Euro Stoxx 50 (EUSTX50) is up 0.35% for the day to 6,307.74 points; the FTSE 100 (UK100) is up 0.26% to 10,726.7 points; and the German DAX 40 (GER40) is up 0.23% to 25,190.9 points.
