Democratic Senator Angela Alsobrooks opposes the ethical clause details of the Clarity Act proposed by the White House

Odaily News, crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett posted on Platform X stating that Democratic Senator Angela Alsobrooks has told her that the White House's proposal to have the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) enforce the ethical clauses in the Clarity Act is an "unserious offer." She stated that if this becomes the sole enforcement mechanism, she will not support the bill.

Alsobrooks also said: "But we will continue to work on this basis to reach an agreement that holds all relevant parties accountable."

Alsobrooks is one of the two Democratic senators who voted in May to advance the Clarity Act through the Senate Banking Committee. She has previously stated that her continued support for the bill will depend on whether the final text includes strong ethical binding clauses.

Currently, both parties are discussing the Clarity Act on Capitol Hill, with the ethical issue seen as the final obstacle to reaching a compromise between the two sides.
