Analyst: NAND Flash Supply Shortage May Ease in 2027

According to Odaily, Citrini analyst jukan posted on platform X that TrendForce expects the NAND flash supply shortage to ease in 2027. TrendForce noted that servers now account for over 40% of total NAND flash bit demand, while smartphones and laptops together account for nearly 40%, continuing to have a significant impact on overall demand. In terms of inventory, storage manufacturers' inventory levels remain relatively low. Although module manufacturers' inventory has increased due to weak consumer market conditions, inventories held by other buyers remain at manageable levels.

Combining these factors, TrendForce predicts that the NAND flash bit supply-demand gap will remain between negative 4% and negative 5% in 2026, indicating that the shortage will persist. However, the gap is expected to turn positive in the second half of 2027, alleviating supply tightness.
