Mitsubishi UFJ: Upcoming US inflation data may curb dollar strength

Odaily Odaily星球日报讯 Mitsubishi UFJ analyst Lee Hardman stated in a report that if data released on Tuesday shows that core inflation pressures in the US remained moderate in June, the dollar could weaken. He pointed out that the market will closely monitor the second-round impact of rising energy prices on core inflation.
He indicated that since the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict, core inflation has only risen slightly. "If core inflation data remains moderate again, coupled with easing energy inflation, market participants are likely to lower their expectations for further rate hikes by the Federal Reserve, thereby curbing dollar strength in the coming week."
