Iranian Senior Official: We Have Options Never Used Before, Including Blocking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait
According to Odaily Planet Daily, as reported by Iranian media Fars News, Rezaei, spokesperson for the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, stated: “In future confrontations, the enemy will face a comprehensive and sudden strike from Iran. Iran possesses numerous options that were not utilized during the forty-day war, including withdrawing from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), amending the ‘nuclear strategic doctrine,’ and blocking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in addition to the Strait of Hormuz. The proposal to withdraw from the NPT is already prepared for parliamentary review, and if Iran faces an existential threat, the revision of the ‘nuclear strategic doctrine’ can also be put on the agenda.” (Jin Shi)
