Odaily Planet Daily News: The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today released its "2025 Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey," showing that Hong Kong, as a leading global asset and wealth management hub, performed excellently in 2025. Total assets under management (AUM) rose 20% year-on-year to a historic high of HKD 42.2 trillion (USD 5.4 trillion).
This record-breaking AUM surpassed the previous high of HKD 35.5 trillion (USD 4.6 trillion) set in 2021. Part of this growth was driven by net capital inflows, which surged 193% year-on-year to HKD 2.1 trillion (USD 265 billion), marking the third consecutive year of increase. By sector, AUM for asset management and fund advisory businesses rose 19% year-on-year to HKD 31 trillion (USD 4 trillion), while AUM for private banking and private wealth management climbed 24% year-on-year to HKD 12.9 trillion (USD 1.7 trillion).
