Trump 'officially announces' US-Iran talks will be held tomorrow, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister says 'not yet arranged'
Odaily Planet Daily News The technical negotiation team responsible for implementing the interim peace agreement between the US and Iran will hold talks in Doha, Qatar in the coming days. Retaliatory strikes launched by both sides over the weekend once pushed this already fragile ceasefire agreement to the brink of collapse.
A source familiar with the negotiation process added that mediating parties have established a communication channel for de-escalating emergencies, and technical consultations will continue. However, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi sent a conflicting signal on Monday through Iran's Tasnim News Agency, stating that no technical working group meetings were scheduled for this week and that the Qatar talks have not yet been confirmed. He also said that routine consultations between Iran and Qatar are proceeding as usual, including monitoring and verifying whether the other party is fulfilling its commitments under the agreement.
