Polymarket is accused of marketing to US users through simulated trading and fake profit videos
Odaily Planet Daily News: Prediction market platform Polymarket has been accused of promoting its products on social media by paying creators to publish simulation trading and fake profit videos.
Reports state that the relevant creators used simulation sites highly similar to the real Polymarket website to produce trading videos. Some of the content showcased high returns that did not actually occur, and some videos had to be submitted to Polymarket for review. Polymarket manages influencer promotional activities through the marketing company Virality. Against the backdrop of its services being restricted for US users, these related marketing activities are still suspected of targeting US users.
Furthermore, the Wall Street Journal reported that Polymarket has a multi-million dollar promotional partnership with influencer Adin Ross to encourage users to participate in platform activities. Polymarket has not yet made a public response to this. (Wall Street Journal)
