Iranian media publishes detailed terms of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, including the reopening of the Hormuz seafood market and the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets
Odaily Planet Daily News: Iran's Mehr News Agency has published the detailed terms of the 14-point memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US:
1. Permanently and immediately cease all hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.
2. The US commits to non-interference in Iran's internal affairs and respects Iran's sovereignty.
3. Completely lift the maritime blockade on Iran within 30 days.
4. The US commits to withdrawing its forces from around Iran.
5. The Strait of Hormuz will be reopened within 30 days under the arrangement of the Iranian side.
6. Suspend sanctions on the sale of Iranian oil, petrochemical products, and their derivatives, and allow Iran full access to its financial resources.
7. The US and its allies must provide Iran with a reconstruction plan worth at least $300 billion.
8. Reach a final agreement on the nuclear issue within 60 days, leading to the comprehensive lifting of primary and secondary US sanctions, as well as resolutions by the UN Security Council and the Board of Governors of the IAEA.
9. Reiterate Iran's commitment under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) not to develop nuclear weapons.
10. During the negotiations, the US commits not to deploy additional troops to the region or impose new sanctions.
11. Release $24 billion in frozen funds during the 60-day final negotiation period. Half of this amount must be provided to Iran before the negotiations begin.
12. Establish a monitoring mechanism to implement the agreement.
13. The final agreement will be endorsed by a UN Security Council resolution.
14. The final negotiations will begin only after the unfreezing of half of Iran's frozen funds, the suspension of sanctions on Iranian oil, and the lifting of the maritime blockade. The final agreement will cover only the future of enriched uranium materials and the enrichment process, the lifting of sanctions, and Iran's economic reconstruction plan. Issues related to Iran's missile program and support for resistance groups have been explicitly removed from the agenda. (Jinshi)
