Iranian Negotiation Team Advisor Discloses Details of Proposed Memorandum of Understanding
According to a report by Odaily Planet Daily, citing Iran's Fars News Agency on the 14th, Mehdi Mohammadi, the strategic advisor to the head of the Iranian negotiation team, disclosed some details of the proposed Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States. The details involve ceasefire arrangements, asset unfreezing, sanctions relief, and subsequent nuclear issue negotiations.
The report states that firstly, it concerns the cessation of conflict and security guarantees. It calls for a comprehensive halt to military operations against Iran and Lebanon and the prevention of any new military actions. Meanwhile, the US side must provide necessary assurances to prevent the recurrence of tensions.
Secondly, some of Iran's frozen assets will be unfrozen, and the process of suspending some economic restrictions and sanctions will be initiated to create conditions for expanding economic exchanges and oil sales.
Thirdly, maritime and trade restrictions will be lifted to normalize Iran's maritime trade, facilitate the passage of Iranian commercial vessels, reduce maritime restrictions, and remove existing obstacles on international transportation routes. (Xinhua News Agency)
