2026-06-07 10:27

Odaily Planet Daily News According to a recent report by Lloyd's List, ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz are required to pay over one hundred thousand US dollars per vessel to obtain Iran's transit permit, with fees having dropped significantly compared to the early stages of the conflict. The report cites information from shipping security operators, stating that transit fees for bulk carriers can reach up to 120,000 USD per trip, while tankers can be as high as 160,000 USD. The specific rates vary depending on factors such as ship type, cargo, and the nationality of the shipowner, marking a substantial decrease from the 1 million to 2 million USD charged per vessel during the early period of the conflict.
