Korean retail investors sold over 1 trillion won in overseas stocks in the first week of June
Odaily Planet Daily News Data released on Sunday showed that Korean retail investors sold over 1 trillion won in overseas stocks in the first week of June, suggesting they may be returning to the domestic stock market amid record gains led by semiconductor stocks. According to data from the Korea Securities Depository (KSD), Korean retail investors net sold $793.67 million in overseas stocks in the first week of June, extending a net selling trend that began in April. This figure far exceeds the net sales of $469 million in April and approaches the record of $939.77 million set in May. If this trend continues until the end of the month, it would mark the third consecutive month of net selling, the first such occurrence since April-July 2023. (Yonhap News)
