Iran: Efforts underway to finalize a memorandum of understanding, with the focus of negotiations on ending the war
According to Odaily, on the 23rd, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said in an interview with Iranian state television that the current focus of negotiations is on ending the "imposed war," with no in-depth discussion of the nuclear issue for now, and that Iran and the US are working to finalize a memorandum of understanding. Baghaei stated that the current stage of negotiations does not involve the nuclear issue or the specific details of lifting corresponding sanctions, but Iran's demands for the lifting of sanctions, especially the release of frozen assets, have been clearly written into the 14-point text of the memorandum of understanding.
He said the reason Iran is not delving into the nuclear issue at this stage is that it believes the nuclear issue has twice been used as a pretext for war against Iran. Currently, Iran is focusing on ending the war on "all fronts," including in Lebanon, and may move to the next stage of nuclear negotiations 30 or 60 days later. (Xinhua News Agency)
