前Farcaster创始人、Tempo团队成员Dan Romero:Tempo或将在2年内实现去中心化,亚洲市场负责人已就位
Odaily Planet Daily News: Recently, Liu Feng, former founder of ChainNews, and Dan Romero, former Farcaster founder and member of the Tempo team, engaged in a series of discussions on topics such as payments, cryptocurrency, and AI agents. During the discussion, Dan Romero responded to some questions raised by the public and Liu Feng, with the key points as follows:
1. The reason for the shift from an idealistic SocialFi product to a public chain dominated by large enterprises: "The crypto world has changed; what exists now are stablecoins and crypto (more native)." Tempo and Playbook's goal is: "Starting with the payment business, collaborate with large, mature companies to help them conduct on-chain payments and promote their own business development. Then, combine DeFi applications to launch yield-generating products that end users need."
2. "Tempo does not have Meme coins or anything like that. For a conservative bank, this is a good thing. Tempo also has other features: compliance and privacy. For crypto natives, this might not be as interesting, but for banks, it's very attractive."
3. Regarding the core use cases for payments: "Platform-based marketplaces and cross-border payments are two clear use cases for stablecoins."
4. Micro-payment-driven agent payments are worth anticipating; stablecoin-based micro-payments will usher in a spring: payments between agents. "Traditional payment methods are too costly to be implemented on a large scale. This granularity and speed can only be achieved through cryptocurrency and streaming payments."
5. "I have great respect for Ethereum's adherence to the cypherpunk approach regarding decentralization, and I really like their new mission; it's good for the world. But the reality is that businesses don't care about these things; they care about whether it can solve real problems." "If Tempo can attract 1 million businesses and 1 billion consumers, it won't be a bad thing for either cryptocurrency or Ethereum."
6. Tempo's decentralization process: Hoping to achieve it within two years. "We are not just a bunch of suits who are outsiders; we truly understand. We know how important decentralization is, but at the same time, we are very pragmatic. I guarantee that we can really push the application forward."
7. Regarding the Machine Payment Protocol (MPP) and the X402 protocol, AI agents don't care about the differences between the two. The key to satisfying them lies in the absence of human intervention.
8. Tempo's head of the Asian market is in place and will operate in Singapore.
