U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent: Iran's oil storage capacity is exhausted, forcing a production halt.
Odaily Planet Daily News: U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent stated that Iran's oil storage is full, and Tehran will need to halt oil production. After the U.S. imposed a blockade on Iranian oil exports, the key issue in this conflict is how long Iran can store the oil it cannot export before running out of space. Some analysts believe Iran still has several weeks of storage capacity, and Tehran has begun to slowly reduce production to address the deadlock.
In an interview with CNBC’s "Squawk Box" program, Bessent stated that over the past three days, due to the U.S. blockade preventing tankers from entering and leaving the Persian Gulf, Iran has been unable to load tankers at its main oil export terminal, Kharg Island. Within the first month of the U.S. blockade, the U.S. military has forced 70 ships allegedly heading to or departing from Iranian ports to change course. (Jinshi)
