Seven Major Bitcoin Mining Pools Join Stratum V2 Working Group to Establish Open Mining Pool Communication Standards
Odaily Planet Daily News Seven major Bitcoin mining pools, including AntPool, Foundry, F2Pool, SpiderPool, DMND, MARA Foundation, and Block Inc, have joined the Stratum V2 Working Group to jointly develop an industry-wide open mining pool communication protocol standard.
Public data shows that Foundry currently controls approximately 30% of the global Bitcoin mining pool hashrate, while AntPool accounts for about 17.7%. Stratum V2 stated that establishing open standards not controlled by a single pool will help improve miners' flexibility in independently selecting block templates and address the growing centralization trend in the Bitcoin mining industry.
Additionally, CoinWarz estimates that Bitcoin mining difficulty will increase again in mid-May, while CoinShares points out that under current market and energy cost conditions, approximately 20% of miners are already in an unprofitable state. (Cointelegraph)
