Crypto media outlet DL News to close at the end of May 2026

Odaily Planet Daily News: Crypto media outlet DL News has announced it will be shutting down at the end of May. DL News was founded in 2022 as the news division of DefiLlama and separated from DefiLlama in early 2023. It launched its commercial division, DL Research, in 2024, which saw 270% revenue growth in 2025, with annual sales surpassing seven figures.
Due to declining traffic in the crypto and tech media space, as well as AI changing the search distribution model, the outlet failed to achieve commercial scale. The team began layoffs in mid-April and officially notified employees on May 1st of the decision to close by the end of the month.
