US media: Trump to hear new plans for action against Iran on Thursday, including strong strikes and partial control of the Strait of Hormuz
Odaily Planet Daily News Two sources said Trump plans to hear a briefing on Thursday from General Brad Cooper, commander of US Central Command, regarding new plans for potential military action against Iran. This briefing indicates Trump is seriously considering resuming large-scale combat operations to break the negotiation deadlock or deliver a decisive blow before ending the war. Three sources said Central Command has prepared a plan for a "short but powerful" strike against Iran, possibly targeting infrastructure. The expectation is that Iran would then show greater flexibility on the nuclear issue and return to the negotiating table. Another plan expected to be presented to Trump involves controlling parts of the Strait of Hormuz to restore commercial shipping passage. One source said such an operation could include ground forces. Another option previously discussed and potentially raised in the briefing is conducting special forces operations to secure control of Iran's enriched uranium stockpile. Cooper previously briefed Trump on February 26, and two days later, the US and Israel launched war against Iran. A person close to Trump said it was that briefing that led to Trump's decision to go to war. (Jinshi)
