Turkish Foreign Minister: Türkiye may consider participating in mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz after a US-Iran agreement

Odaily Planet Daily News Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Türkiye could consider participating in mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz after a potential peace agreement between Iran and the United States. It is expected that following a US-Iran agreement, a technical team will carry out mine clearance work in the strait. Türkiye, in principle, views such operations as a humanitarian responsibility and holds a positive attitude. If this future technical multinational coalition becomes a party to a new round of conflict, Türkiye will reassess its stance. It is believed that issues related to Iran's nuclear program can be resolved in the next round of talks to be held in Pakistan. (Jin Shi)
