Iranian High Official Calls US 14-Point Plan "Impractical," Emphasizes Negotiations Must Include "Tangible Benefits"
Mohsen Rezaei, a long-time advisor to Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that Iran will not allow the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz based on "an impractical plan" and then withdraw from the conflict "without paying any compensation for all the damage caused to Iran." This statement was made in response to the 14-point plan submitted to Iran by Washington through negotiators.
Rezaei emphasized that for negotiations between Iran and the US to achieve satisfactory results, they must include "tangible benefits," not the "empty gestures" the US attempts to offer. He said that even if the US withdraws its troops from the region, Iran will still demand its rights and war reparations. Rezaei also stated: "We have endured them for 47 years, and we will continue on the path of resistance." (Jin Shi)
