Ethereum 2.0
Transition to PoS Merger Spec Finalized
Ethereum 2.0 has finalized the specifications for a full transition to proof-of-stake (PoS), a so-called merger, according to a developer call. Ethereum developer Tim Beiko said that ETH 2.0 "now has proper specifications in terms of consensus." The specification "started as a Markdown file and evolved into the current Python executable specification," he said. They will likely follow the same approach as ETH 1.0, typically relying on opcode bootstrapping through the core EIP. (Trustnodes)

Ethereum developer Tim Beiko updated the results of the Ropsten stress test on the Ethereum test network. There is no problem. The following figure shows the change of baseFeePerGas over time. Tim Beiko introduced the chart and said that after Ropsten upgraded in London, the initial value was set to 1 gwei, the large peak value was the stress test, and the sending of spam was turned off later. In addition, Tim Beiko said that other testnets may be stress tested.

According to official news, Formation Fi, a DeFi revenue management platform, announced that it will launch staking services on June 22. Formation Fi is a cross-chain automated DeFi income management platform that uses risk parity as an investment management strategy. The platform allows users to deploy liquidity mining strategies across chains, such as BSC, Ethereum, and Polkadot. Earlier news, Formation Fi announced the completion of strategic financing of 3.3 million US dollars, participating investors include Kenetic, Kosmos, Spark Digital Capital, etc.
Rarible, an NFT platform, has completed a $14.2 million Series A round of financing, led by Venrock, a venture capital fund owned by the Rockefeller family, and CoinFund, a blockchain venture capital firm. Rarible's current architecture is based on the Ethereum public chain, and the NFT market will be launched on the Flow public chain. (Coindesk)
Ethereum-based layer 2 decentralized exchange ZKSwap has announced the launch of its V2 testnet, which will offer rewards for testers. ZKSwap introduced the "Unlimited Token Listing" tool in the V2 testnet, users can now list their assets on ZKSwap with zero listing fees. However, users need to pay some transaction fees (gas) to miners on the Ethereum Ropsten testnet. In addition to this, the V2 testnet also aims to solve some problems of L1 and L2 interaction, slow withdrawals and poor scalability of existing layer 2 Ethereum-based systems. If the operation is stable, ZKSwap will be launched on the main network after this stage of testing.
