Opened another dimension, the digital world is the future
In the past two days, I have been thinking about what Zhou Xiaochuan said: "When it comes to the innovation of cryptocurrencies, China's attitude also focuses on how you serve the real economy in many analyzes and discussions. If you can make important contributions to the real economy service, then it may pay more attention and be willing to invest more resources in R&D and pilot projects in this area. On the contrary, it will be weaker.”
What I think about is not the right or wrong starting point of our country's policy formulation or the right or wrong of the policy itself, because different people will have different thinking from different angles. Politicians in our country must consider the interests of the majority, but the players in the field of digital currency must only be a minority in this country, so it is very normal to have such conflicts of interests and opinions.
But a small number of people are often those who lead the future and explore on the road to the future. Therefore, we in this field still have to think about the future from this field itself.
In yesterday’s article, I pointed out that in fact, the field of digital currency has little relationship with the real economy so far, and I think that in the future, its relationship with the real economy may not be as big as everyone thinks.
In fact, without Bitcoin and digital currency, our lives would remain unaffected.
So what exactly have Bitcoin and digital currencies brought us? In my opinion, what they really do is open up a new world of another dimension to humans.
Not only Bitcoin, but all technological revolutions in human history have played the same role.
For example, in the Industrial Revolution, without the invention of the steam engine, human beings could still live without any influence, but the invention of the steam engine brought human beings into another era, opening up new ways of life, new social forms, and new ethical rules. This is a world with a higher dimension than the farming era.
The role played by digital currencies is the same. They are shaping a virtual world with a higher dimension than the real economy and the real world.
When we talk about the virtual world, the first thing many people think of is another realm in real life: games.
A considerable proportion of today's young people are addicted to games every day, and even go crazy for games. This trend shows that for young people, the importance of real life has become less and less important than that of the virtual world. The reason why that virtual world is so fascinating is that it gives players a sense of satisfaction, status and accomplishment in another world that they cannot get in the real world.
However, the biggest problem in the current game world is that there is no common platform, and it is monopolized by centralized giants. No matter how high a player's status, identity and achievements are in the game, these virtual "wealths" may be lost at any time. Influenced or even threatened by the centralized platform ----- once the platform goes bankrupt, everything for the players will be returned to zero.
The blockchain just solves this problem. In blockchain games, the non-tamperable and inalienable digital assets make everything of the player only belong to the player, regardless of the platform. Of course, these games still need to be improved in terms of performance and TPS. Their experience is not good enough, the effect is not dazzling enough, and the functions are not rich enough. But its development has entered a state of exponential growth, and it has begun to show great prospects and hopes.
Recently, many blockchain media have mentioned a new term "metaverse", which refers to this virtual world.
In fact, this term has been around for a long time, but it has only become popular recently, and I think there is a reason for it. The fundamental reason is that the development of blockchain technology and the application of NFT have made the Metaverse come to us.
Two recent cases have shocked me:
Sotheby's, the world's top auction house, and Binance, one of the three major auction houses, have their own showrooms on the well-known blockchain game platform Decentraland, and can display their NFTs in the showroom. And there are various videos that can be seen in these showrooms. If we visit these virtual showrooms in person, we will feel that there is not much difference from real life.
In addition, on Children’s Day, Cao Yin, a well-known domestic DeFi investor and NFT player, brought a group of digital currency and NFT enthusiasts (more precisely, metaverse enthusiasts) to visit the virtual scene of Cryptovoxels, a well-known virtual scene project. world.
Well-known companies have made great efforts to enter the virtual world and set up their own scenes on it, and well-known players have begun to explore the metaverse. These cases make me feel that an irresistible trend is rushing towards us.
If blockchain technology is supplemented with virtual reality and augmented reality technology, then this Metaverse will be even more exciting and fascinating in the future. It is entirely possible that the virtual world will become a part of our life in the future, and it is entirely possible that in the future we will spend far more time and resources in the virtual world than in the physical world.
I even have a feeling: the prospect and future of the metaverse in Ethereum is even bigger than the current DeFi, and it has more potential than the current DeFi.
