Tutorial | How Hopr, led by Binance, participates in the Genesis DAO pre-sale
The HOPR token launch is about to begin officially. The Genesis DAO voted and the smart contract was built and tested. Hope you are looking forward to this moment as much as we are!
You can read the details of the token distribution from the previously published article. But this article will mainly focus on the pre-sale stage. Participants of Genesis DAO can purchase 16,000 HOPR tokens at a price of 0.05xDAI (each participant is limited to 16,000 HOPR tokens. The total amount is 50,000,000 HOPR tokens.

How to participate in the pre-sale
Participating in the pre-sale is actually very simple. You just need to send xDA from your Genesis DAO address to the pre-sale smart contract address. The pre-sale price is 0.05$, so for every xDAI you will get 20 HOPR tokens. (Gas fee is not included, but the gas fee charged on xDAI is not high). You can buy up to 16.000 HOPR tokens (if xDAI falls below 500.000 after 24 hours, you will have the opportunity to increase the purchase amount).
Smart contracts record your transactions. When the lockup period is over, you can claim your HOPR tokens.
It's really very simple. There are a few things you need to check ahead of time though. Please read the following steps carefully. We know everyone is excited. But if you make any mistakes in the middle, your transaction will fail!

Make sure you are eligible to participate
The pre-sale phase is limited to Genesis DAO participants only. If you have not participated in any voting, but have participated in any testnet with a reward mechanism, you can click here to check your participation qualifications. This is the only way to participate. Participation qualifications for Genesis DAO cannot be sold, and accounts cannot be transferred.

Make sure the pre-sale is running
Maybe it's very obvious. But you have to wait for the pre-sale to officially start before you can start trading. The pre-sale will start at 14:00 CET on February 21st and end at 14:00 CET on February 23rd. If you send xDAI before the official start, your transaction will be rejected and your xDAI will be returned. But you still pay for gas. The pre-sale startup part https://hoprlaunch.eth.link will display the unix time, the time when the pre-sale officially starts. (1613912400, equal to 14:00 CET on February 21st). Just remember not to rush. The pre-sale is limited to Genesis DAO participants, the price is set at 0.05xDAI, and the purchase limit is 16.000 HOPR per person. No rush to be the first.

Make sure to stay within the cap
Participants are initially capped at 16.000 HOPR per person, for a total of 800xDAI. If the pre-sale does not reach 500.000xDAI within 24 hours, the upper limit will increase by 50% every three hours.

Make sure you have xDAI
The pre-sale will be conducted on the xDAI stable coin (stable coin) on the xDAI chain. Please make sure you have the correct currency. xDAI is different from DAI, and different from STAKE, it is a consensus proof coin used to secure the xDAI chain.

Make sure you are on the correct chain
Switching between different blockchains or different assets can sometimes create a lot of confusion. Many ETH-compatible wallets allow adding new assets with just a few random clicks. This can be quite confusing. Before you participate, please double check that your wallet is on the xDAI mainnet chain.

Make sure you have enough gas bills
The pre-sale will take place on xDAI. Participants only involve simple transactions and do not need to participate in smart contract calls, so the gas fee is relatively small. But it is not 0, so when you prepare xDAI to participate in the pre-sale, please estimate the extra gas fee. If you need 200 xDAI to buy HOPR, then you only need to add a little for gas fees.

The pre-sale period will last until 14:00 European time on February 23. There will be a 24-hour break before the start of the second phase of Balancer (LBP). All xDAI received in the pre-sale stage will be converted to DAI, and together with the 30m HOPR reserved for this stage and those not sold in the first stage, will participate in Balancer’s liquidity guide pool. These two allocations, DAI and HOPR, will determine the initial price.
LBP will officially start at 14:00 European time on February 24th. Everyone has the opportunity to participate in this stage. Including those who have participated in the first phase of pre-sale. This phase will last until February 27 at 14:00 European time. After that, you can receive the hopr purchased in the pre-sale stage. A detailed introduction to this stage will be sent to you next week.
