The transition of Ethereum to the PoS chain, that is, Ethereum 2.0, requires pledge of ETH. At present, the pledged ETH has reached 20% of the target amount (about 20.7%), and most of the funds come from giant whales who are bullish on ETH for a long time.
Ethereum 2.0 was originally scheduled to go live on December 1st, about two weeks from now. The prerequisite for Ethereum 2.0 to go online is that the funds in its deposit contract reach 524,000 ETH, and 108,800 ETH has been deposited so far. Bison Trails conducted research on users who deposited funds, and finally found that more than 25% of the funds deposited into the deposit contract came from 3 ETH holders.
According to Viktor Bunin of Bison Trails, on November 14, a giant whale deposited 17,088 ETH. Analysis shows that the giant whale bought ETH during the bull market in 2017, when ETH was trading at $300, and held it in different addresses for more than three years. Until now, none of the coins had been sold, Bunin said.
Bunin says:
"Another giant whale has deposited 5504 ETH, and he has been hoarding ETH since 4 years ago. Another giant whale has deposited 5024 ETH, and has held the currency for 3 years. From the transaction history of these giant whales, we can see They still have 15,000 ETH on standby.”
