Phase 0: Beacon Chain
Phase 0: Beacon ChainI was very optimistic about the release of the Eth2 deposit contract, and we are indeed ready. In the podcast above, Danny said that the deployment of the deposit contract was delayed a little later, and it will be completed firstBlst cryptographic library
It's not clear to me why this would cause a delay in deployment, sincedeposit contractdeposit contractand officialdeposit facilityNone of them use the Blst library. In a recent developer meeting,Danny says
The audit is going well and will hopefully be completed this week, after which we can move into the eth2 go-live process. Not everyone thinks we are ready to deploy a deposit contract. In response, Jeff Coleman raised the issue around toolingreasonable point of view
Every user who intends to become a staker needs to know the risks and benefits and have a psychological expectation. If readers lack confidence in personal staking in the early days, just wait and see, there is nothing to lose by doing so.
Medalla Testnet
Medalla Testnet
Status of Medalla
After running perfectly for two months, it has been 19 days since the Medalla testnet was released. To continue to finalize the block, we need 2/3 of the verifiers to go online and operate correctly. After the launch of the Zinken testnet (short-term testnet), participation in Medalla dropped significantly.
This is the problem with incentivized testnets: there is no cost to leave the network at will.
Of course, the network is still running, and the long unfinished state allows the client team to find memory and CPU issues. We have some optimizations for Teku and my validator is running pretty well. Other clients are also constantly being optimized.
The participation rate of the Medalla testnet is currently fluctuating between 30% and 60%. One of the big reasons may be that the performance of the client used by most people is unstable.please use!
different clients
You may be thinking "Is it necessary?" I seriously doubt we'll have long-term undecided issues on the mainnet, with everyone using real ETH and huge stakes, and validators using the client more diligently. If a client creates problems, users can switch to another client. So in this way, the current Medalla test network is very unrealistic, and spending too much energy to improve its current state is of no avail. But some effort is still necessary: performance improvements feed back into overall optimization. Jacek from the Status team tweetedexplain
The challenges encountered by the Nimbus client and their gains.Having said that, validators who do not participate in the next few days will be gradually expelled from the network due to inactivity leaks, which can help us start finalizing blocks again and get back on track. If the reader has a paused validator, choose to continue running orlog off network
. Here is a tutorial for voluntarily quitting the network. The current client tools are not very easy to use. Yorick Downe provides a simpler method.

). I haven't gone through them all yet, but at a glance, I advise against jumping to conclusions about a particular client implementation.
Proper Proposers and Skipped Slots: A Ranking and Segmentation Study of Validator BehaviorOn the one hand, we cannot reliably discern most of them in the network; on the other hand, all clients are continuously optimized and developed while Medalla is running, and the goals are constantly changing.

Seriously, this thing is pretty cool. Other staking services require the user's signing key to be escrowed, and even the withdrawal key needs to be escrowed. Blox’s trustless pool staking does not require either, and users retain control of their keys from start to finish.

Thank you all so much for your feedback a month ago, from which I learned that my readers and friends are very generous and kind ♥️!
The most received suggestion is to increase email push. I've been hesitant about this for two reasons, one is that I'm too lazy, and the other is that I really don't want to be responsible for everyone's addresses. But I'll think about it again.RSS feedAt the same time, the latestFeedrabbit, and let everyone know how it goes.
