Topaz and Onyx are single-client testnets launched by Prysmatic Labs, while Altona, Witti, and Schlesi are multi-client testnets. The earliest testnet of ETH2 (Beachon Chain) was Sapphire launched in April this year. At that time, only 3.2ETH was required to be deposited. Then the Topaz testnet was launched in May. Nodes deposited 32ETH to become verifiers. The Onyx test network was launched in June, with about 20,000 nodes participating in stable operation. In early July, the Altona multi-client testnet was launched. Now in August launched the multi-client testnet Medalla.
The Medalla testnet currently supports Prysm, Lighthouse, Teku, Nimbus, and Lodestar clients, and the Medalla testnet is considered to be the last testnet before the release of ETH2.0 Phase 0. Therefore, the market has shown great expectations for the launch of the ETH2.0 mainnet before the end of the year. Today's market sentiment is also constantly expressed.
