Eth2 is ready
officially launchedofficially launched. This new testnet is running the full mainnet configuration for phase 0 of eth2. There has been a lot of discussion about the hardware required to run eth2 beacon nodes and validators, so I wanted to offer some personal insight here.
Beacon nodes are heavy nodes (like the current eth1 node software), and validators are lightweight. To stake in eth2, you can spin up your own Beacon node and point validators at it, or use a third-party node. In both cases, you only need one Beacon node, but you will need to use a new validator for every 32 ETH you plan to lock (remember, validators are lightweight). This means you can run the validator on hardware like a Raspberry Pi or other mini PC, but if you want to run your own Beacon node, you'll need a higher performance system. Hope this explanation provides some clarity!

It is worth noting that in January this year,Lendf.Me integrated with imBTC, imBTC is an Ethereum token linked to BTC. Earlier today, imBTC’s liquidity pool on the Uniswap decentralized exchange was exploited, resulting in a loss of approximately $300,000 worth of tokens.
The imBTC attack exploits imBTC's use of the ERC 777 standard, which allows hackers to continuously call the Uniswap smart contract to withdraw funds before updating external balances. Lendf.Me faces similar attack as imToken one, as transaction records show hackersrepeatedlyCall the withdrawal function of Lendf.Me to withdraw the imBTC that the hacker provided to the lending protocol in the first place.
Black Thursday* losses spark $28M class action against Maker foundation
A class-action lawsuit seeking more than $28 million from the Maker Foundation and several associated companies is scheduled to be filed in U.S. federal court, according to documents obtained by The Block.
In the draft complaint, the Maker Foundation — a nonprofit that developed the MakerDAO decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol — is accused of misrepresenting the protocol’s risk to investors and failing to protect investor interests.
Specifically, the complaint alleges negligence, willful misrepresentation, and negligent misrepresentation in connection with the loss. The lawsuit does not appear to have been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Gnosis protocol officially launched
Gnosis officially released their protocol this week, the culmination of two years of research and development. The Gnosis Protocol is a completely permissionless DEX (Decentralized Exchange Protocol) that uses a new mechanism called ring trading that maximizes liquidity. Ring trading in particular improves liquidity for illiquid or "long tail" tokens such as prediction market outcome tokens by facilitating transactions that are not normally possible with traditional trading protocols.
You can now go toMesaTry and trade on Gnosis, the first dapp built on top of the Gnosis protocol, or use it directly at the smart contract levelthis tutorial
