(1) V God proposes a plan to improve the privacy of Ethereum, using the Ethereum domain name system to realize address hiding

On April 1, V God, the founder of Ethereum, issued an article saying that the next step in improving the privacy of Ethereum (in addition to the ongoing Tornado.cash and similar improvements): some simple, easy-to-use, privacy-like address plans. That is, the token is sent to an address with the name of ENS (Ethereum Domain Name System) without disclosing to the public who got the token. In this regard, V God explained the working principle of its plan, saying that it is very simple to realize the privacy address: the name holder of ENS publishes the public key P with the private key. The token sender generates random r and sends it to address r*P (this is elliptic curve multiplication). ENS domain name holders can spend these tokens with r*p. The sender just needs to somehow send r to the name holder.

In addition, V God also mentioned another method. He claims to use the public key P with encrypted r and publish it on-chain. But this requires the receiver to scan all private send transactions, so it is very expensive to run in the long run. It can be divided into T segment storage, which reduces the scanning time by T times, but also reduces the anonymity by T times, so there is a trade-off. (Twitter)

(2) Vitalik: The Ethereum 2.0 team may launch a multi-client testnet in April

On March 31, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said that the Ethereum 2.0 team may launch a multi-client testnet in April.

Additionally, tech security firm Least Authority recently completed an audit of the ETH 2.0 specification, which highlighted potential security gaps in the protocol’s P2P messaging system and block proposal system. In response to the audit report, V God said that the ETH 2.0 team is currently working hard to solve these problems, although this may require a long-term effort rather than an immediate correction.Danny RyanOn the same day, Ethereum 2.0 researcher

Indicates that the latest version of the Phase 0 (Phase 0) code specification is v0.11.1. This release fixes some bugs found in the phase 0 specification and will continue to refine the network specification as it is worked on. Also, this release is not compatible with v0.11.0 release. (3) The decentralized prediction market Augur will release v2.0 in early June

The decentralized prediction market Augur will launch its second version on the Ethereum network in early June. It is reported that v2.0 will introduce new features, including DAI-denominated tokens, token standards upgraded from ERC20 to ERC777, and new mechanisms to address market risks.

In a blog post last Thursday, Augur announced that v2 is scheduled to be deployed in the first few weeks of June. The company also extended the v1 deadline to May 15. During the intervening window, users can continue to use their UI to create markets.

The article states: “When deploying v2, all current token balances must be migrated to a new REP token contract. We will soon share details with exchanges and individuals governing the migration process, so please be patient.”

Currently, the team is working on further improving the Augur UI, conducting end-to-end testing of its smart contracts, and preparing for its integration with Uniswap v2, which is also expected to be released in Q2: “We are working with the Uniswap team on Communicate and will evaluate their launch to determine the best way forward.” In the meantime, users can participate in Augur v2’s ongoing bounty program to identify vulnerabilities in its smart contracts. (4) Balancer, a non-custodial portfolio management company, launched on the Ethereum mainnet

On March 31, Balancer, a non-custodial portfolio management company, launched on the Ethereum mainnet. Balancer's white paper was published in September 2019. The project is essentially a generic implementation of Uniswap's Automated Market Maker (AMM) model. Balancer Labs previously completed a $3 million seed round of financing led by Accomplice and Placeholder, with participation from CoinFund and Inflection. (The Block)

(5) The Sandbox completed the third pre-sale of virtual land, raising a total of 440,000 USD in ETH

(6)On April 2, The Sandbox, an Ethereum-based game, announced that it had completed its third virtual land pre-sale, raising a total of 3,330 ETH (approximately $440,000) through the sale of 12,384 pieces of land (LAND). (Decrypt)

On April 1, David Hoffman, chief operating officer of the US real estate tokenization platform RealT, issued a document stating that the total value of the tokenized real estate issued by RealT based on the Ethereum blockchain has exceeded $1 million. David Hoffman also said that in 2020 and beyond, the company's goal is to bring $1 billion in tokenized assets to the Ethereum blockchain. (Medium)

1. Survey report: 29% of traditional trading companies trade Ethereum derivatives

Bitstamp and CME Group recently released a research report that surveyed executives from buy-side, sell-side, and proprietary trading groups that specialize in traditional derivatives trading, clearing, and execution.

All of the crypto trading firms studied in the report are aware of the growing interest in Bitcoin derivatives. About 57% of traditional trading firms have traded Bitcoin derivatives, and 29% have traded Ethereum derivatives. One of the findings was that while XRP was listed as the eighth most popular digital asset, XRP/USD ranked fifth among institutional firms’ preferred cryptocurrency trading pairs. Their top three considerations are liquidity, volatility and arbitrage opportunities. (Cointelegraph)
