Foreword: The entire encryption market has suffered a cold wave, and Ethereum has not been spared. Black swan events such as Covid-19 and the oil price war have triggered liquidity crises in global asset markets. In the overall environment, the correlation between the encryption market and the traditional asset market is increasing. The market noise has increased, and for the builders of eth2.0, how do they see the future of Ethereum. Raul Jordan and his Prysmatic Labs team are launching an active build for eth2.0, and in his eyes, Ethereum is on the verge of greatness... "Dreamers find their way in the moonlight, and the first see the light." The author of this article is Raul Jordan, translated by "JITI" of "Blue Fox Notes".

Right now, it's only $3100 to become an eth2 staker, oh wait, it's only $2900 now... please wait, let me end this sentence first! The point is that cycles come and go, and short-term disturbances will always have a huge psychological impact on everyone. What happened to ETH these days will make people wonder whether it is the magical thing in everyone's mind. Internet currency, would you even doubt it was real? What is money... what is life? (Blue Fox Notes: This is a true portrayal of life that has plummeted to the point of doubting life)

However, as we said, we already have over 450,000 slots on our eth2 public testnet, the longest chain ever running without interruption. In panic, we have over 51,000 validators actively creating blocks, voting, being assigned, being slashed, joining, exiting...

At Prysmatic, we wake up and go to work each day knowing that what we are building is securing assets that are cherished both to ourselves and the Ethereum community. Ethereum gives us a home, a community focused on hard work, and actions speak louder than words. Now, I believe, leadership needs to be upgraded, and the Ethereum community itself is the leader of the project.

What a stable network looks like

How cool is that? There are these crazy servers in different parts of the world agreeing on transactions, transferring value between people, never stopping, purely driven by people who see different futures. If you look at the world today, someone knows that something needs to change, such as currency, internet, finance, etc. This is what drives us.

We started Prysmatic Labs after the market crash of 2017, when there was noise instead of signal, loud people fell silent and lights dimmed. We started this company because we were fascinated by Ethereum's resilience, promise, and brain power to drive the blockchain industry forward.

Back in January 2018, I first found my Prysmatic teammates after posting a lonely Gitter thread about the go-ethereum project contributing to the sharding implementation. I was in my living room, putting together a list of people who had responded, putting together a basic front end on Github Pages, never thinking anyone would pay attention to it or see it. The next morning, I woke up to Vitalik's new talk at a conference in Singapore and saw it pop up on my screen:

"There is an up and coming team that is implementing sharding called Prysmatic Labs".

At that second, I got a stomach upset, not just because of the surprise, but because it really hit me how important it is to scale Ethereum...to turn years of research ideas into How important it is to implement it, it requires real code.

“Black Thursday” in Ethereum history is no different than the day we founded this company. The lights in the industry are dimmed, social media is full of noise, and yet, the code is still moving forward... Our direction remains firm and passionate. (Blue Fox Notes: The so-called "Black Thursday" is also the day when the encryption market plummeted on 3.12 Black Swan)

Ethereum has indeed spawned programmable stablecoins, currency Lego, bringing together some internet strangers whose Github handle we only know, etc. At the core of blockchain work is programmatic coordination. Lest we forget, the world is made up of coordination problems at its core, and there is much to learn as an industry as a whole. Market forces, fear, greed, innovation, progress are all part of the same pie, and the ever-changing dynamics between each other are often vast and incomprehensible. What we do know is that we can shape the future. The code we release today, and the determination we demonstrate in building something meaningful, will directly affect the future success of Ethereum.

We have agency and urgency. We understand our significant responsibility on this project. Our project (the Go implementation of the Ethereum 2.0 protocol) is running stably on our testnet and has already interoperated with another team's testnet in preparation for a mature multi-client effort.
