(1) It will take at least 3-5 years to fully launch ETH 2.0 due to core issues that slow down development
With the Istanbul upgrade successfully completed, Ethereum 2.0 is also making progress, but the complete ETH 2.0 timetable has not yet been announced. According to a recent official blog post, it can be expected that “the full rollout of Ethereum 2.0 may be many years away.”
The team is currently focusing on more incremental upgrades to Ethereum 1.x, and related research is being broken down into smaller updates to ensure the original chain remains operational during this interim period. The task now is to "extend the life of the original chain by at least 3-5 years before upgrading to ETH 2.0."
(2) The Ethereum 2.0 development team released the Lighthouse public test network
According to a report released by the Ethereum Foundation's cooperative start-up company Iden3, the ZK-Rollup function will allow more transactions to be verified in each Ethereum block. The Visa network currently averages 2000 TPS, and Ethereum currently supports around 30 TPS, but with the implementation of ZK-Rollup, this number could explode by 6300%. So this breakthrough is not entirely impossible. (U. Today)

Coin Metrics data engineer Antoine Le Calvez noted in a series of tweets that the Ethereum Istanbul upgrade had negative consequences: “While technically successful, the recent Ethereum Istanbul upgrade was not without its negative consequences. Some EVM operations were repriced , which is more expensive, which impacts some smart contract activity.”
