(1) Eth 2.0 will be launched before the first quarter of 2020
At the Devcon 5 conference in Osaka, Japan, Peter Mauric, head of Ethereum client Parity, said that most projects related to Ethereum will be created on the new blockchain (Eth 2.0) first. The first phase of Eth 2.0 - Phase 0 will go live before the first quarter of 2020. Ether moved to Phase 0 will be converted to new tokens. None of these tokens can be transferred on-chain for at least six months after the new coin is released. Before that, the user has been locked. There are currently no clear plans on how to migrate hundreds of Ethereum-based tokens and smart contracts, including DeFi projects, to the new chain. (CoinDesk)
