Musk's social platform X under investigation by Irish regulators

Odaily News: Irish media regulators have launched an investigation into Musk's social platform X, focusing on whether its age verification mechanisms and parental control measures are effective. The Irish Media Commission stated that the investigation will assess whether X effectively enforces age safeguard measures and whether it provides adequate protection for users under 16 while allowing adult content.

Regulators noted that X's parental control features may have issues such as insufficient minimum requirements, being difficult to locate, and not being adequately communicated to new users. If X is found to violate Irish cybersecurity regulations, regulators could impose fines of up to €20 million or 10% of the company's relevant annual revenue. (Semafor)
