Odaily Planet Daily News Bitcoin News posted on X platform, saying that according to WELT, the German Ministry of Finance is drafting a tax reform plan that intends to tax gains from Bitcoin and other crypto assets purchased after December 31, 2026, and no longer apply the holding period exemption. Existing holdings will still be subject to current rules, meaning that sales after holding for more than one year are generally tax-free. The relevant law is planned to take effect in 2027, with the first tax withholding possibly beginning in 2028. The draft is still in its early stages and may be adjusted later.
