August 27th marks the first verdict in the Bithumb erroneous bitcoin recovery case

Odaily Planet Daily News: A South Korean court will deliver its first first-instance verdict on August 27th regarding the Bithumb erroneous bitcoin incident. The involved users are accused of selling mistakenly received BTC and holding approximately 194 million KRW in cash. Bithumb has previously filed unjust enrichment return lawsuits against four users, with the highest case amount reaching approximately 500 million KRW. In February of this year, Bithumb mistakenly credited Korean won points as bitcoin during a promotional reward distribution, subsequently initiating a recovery process. As of March 10th, the exchange had recovered 99% of the 1,788 BTC that were not yet retrieved.
