US Lawmaker Urges SEC to Investigate Truth API, Questions Potential Violations of Federal Securities Law

Odaily Planet Daily News U.S. Representative Ritchie Torres has asked the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate whether Truth Social parent company Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG)'s upcoming Truth API violates federal securities laws, and to assess if it involves issues related to market manipulation, investor protection, and conflicts of interest.

According to previous reports, the Truth API is set to launch on August 1st, providing paying customers with real-time access to public posts from popular accounts on Truth Social. Licensing fees could reach up to $100,000 per month. (Axios)
