Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: Currently Focused on Finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States
Odaily Planet Daily News Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that they are currently focused on finalizing a memorandum of understanding with the United States. He noted that the mediation process with the U.S. is "time-consuming and laborious" because American hostility can be traced back decades. "We have discussed some points and wording where differences still exist, and have put forward proposals, some of which are still under consideration as parties express their views," Baghaei was quoted as saying by the Islamic Republic News Agency. Baghaei also thanked Pakistan for its mediation efforts.
Esmaeil Baghaei said that Iran has decided to focus negotiations on ending wars on all fronts, including Lebanon. At this stage, the details of the nuclear issue will not be discussed; whether it will enter nuclear discussions in 30 days or 60 days is a matter for later. (Jinshi)
