U.S. Secretary of State: If Iran Implements a Toll System in the Strait of Hormuz, a U.S.-Iran Diplomatic Agreement Will Be Difficult to Reach
Odaily Planet Daily News U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters on Thursday that if Tehran implements a toll system in the Strait of Hormuz, a diplomatic agreement between the U.S. and Iran will be difficult to reach. Rubio stated: "No one in the world supports this toll system. This must not happen. It is unacceptable. If they continue with this approach, it will make reaching a diplomatic agreement unfeasible. Therefore, if they attempt to do this, it will pose a threat to the world and is completely illegal."
Rubio also told reporters that some progress has been made in negotiations with Tehran to end the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, but Washington is facing "a system that is somewhat fragmented in itself." "There are some positive signs," Rubio said. "I don't want to be overly optimistic... so let's see what happens in the coming days." (Jin Shi)
