Odaily Planet Daily reported that calculations based on U.S. Treasury Department data show that in March (the first month of the Iran war), Turkey nearly emptied all its holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds as it intensified efforts to support its local currency. Data shows that as of the end of March, Turkey's total holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds dropped from $16 billion in the previous month to $1.8 billion. This figure includes bonds held by the central bank and other Turkish entities (including corporations). (Jin Shi)
