According to sources familiar with the matter, Ken Griffin's investment firm Citadel has acquired the majority of the equity portfolio of AI hedge fund Situational Awareness.

Previously reported, Situational Awareness, founded by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, suffered substantial losses due to AI-related trades and was forced to sell its equity assets to alleviate liquidity pressure.
