Odaily News: The ruble-pegged stablecoin A7A5, which launched in early 2025, has recorded a cumulative trading volume of over $102 billion. However, amid sanctions from the US, UK, and EU, as well as tightening domestic regulations in Russia, its average daily trading volume has dropped approximately 96% from the peak in July 2025. New issuance has been suspended since July 2025. A7A5 was launched by Russian cross-border payment company A7 LLC, whose major shareholders include sanctioned businessman Ilan Shor and Russian state-owned bank Promsvyazbank. The token is formally issued by Kyrgyz company Old Vector LLC.
