Metaplanet acquires Siiibo Securities, plans to build a Bitcoin fixed-income market in Japan

Odaily Planet Daily News: Metaplanet, a listed company in Japan, has acquired Siiibo Securities, which holds a Type I financial instruments business license, allowing it to design and sell securities in Japan. Research firm Benchmark points out that the market generally views this acquisition, valued at approximately 2.1 billion yen (about 13 million US dollars), as a small-scale expansion. However, Metaplanet actually plans to use this foundation to issue Bitcoin-collateralized bonds, Bitbonds, with an annualized yield of approximately 4% to 6%, and subsequently migrate them on-chain, settle via stablecoins, and gradually form a secondary market.
