Analyst: Fed vote on Wednesday may show divisions, potentially signaling September meeting outcome

According to Odaily, LBBW senior fixed income analyst Elmar Voelker stated in a report that investors may focus on the number of potential dissenting votes in the Fed's interest rate decision on Wednesday. He said: "We believe there could be up to three dissenting votes, because as early as April, a faction of this size had already voted against the Fed's then 'dovish' forward guidance."

Voelker noted that if the Fed unanimously decides to adopt a wait-and-see monetary policy stance, it would be a surprise move favorable to the bond market, as it would shake the prevailing expectation among market participants that a rate hike in September is almost a certainty. (Jin Shi)
