2026-07-24 03:29

Odaily Planet Daily News Driven by profit growth from the AI boom and the impact of US tariff policies, South Korean companies are experiencing the largest wave of investment and acquisitions in the US in recent years. Data from South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance shows that in the first quarter of this year, actual foreign direct investment (FDI) by South Korean companies in the US more than doubled year-on-year to $10.2 billion, hitting a five-year high. Companies benefiting from the AI infrastructure trend, such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, are accelerating their布局 in the US AI supply chain. Samsung has participated in funding rounds for ZutaCore, an AI data center liquid cooling company, and Groq, an AI chip company. SK Hynix plans to invest $10 billion in US innovative enterprises. Investment bankers believe that against the backdrop of Chinese buyers exiting the M&A market for large US technology assets, South Korean companies are entering a "golden period" for acquisitions in the US.
