Blockworks: There are currently about 250 active liquid funds in the industry

Odaily Planet Daily reported that well-known trader Ansem asked data service providers such as Blockworks: "Has anyone counted how many liquid funds there are in the crypto space and how much assets under management (AUM) they manage?"

Blockworks co-founder Jason Yanowitz replied: "I guess there are about 800 globally. My list has 470 (it was 1,500 in early 2022), but there may be another 40%-50% of funds that have not disclosed information. Currently, about 250 are active, but most of them have very small AUM, for example, a small fund managed by two founders with only about $10 million in AUM... The majority of AUM is actually concentrated in a few funds."
