BlackCat ransomware accomplice forfeited approximately $8.37 million in crypto assets, properties, and vehicles

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida has ordered the forfeiture of approximately 90.319 BTC, 7,999.873 XMR, as well as small amounts of XRP, XLM, and SOL held by Angelo Martino, an accomplice in the BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware scheme. Based on current market prices, the total value of the crypto assets is roughly $8.37 million, including approximately $5.84 million in BTC, $2.46 million in XMR, and around $71,000 in other tokens. The court also ordered the forfeiture of two properties in Florida, along with assets such as a car and a boat. Martino, who served as a ransomware negotiator, leaked client negotiation information to attackers and participated in ransomware attacks, and has been sentenced to 70 months in prison.
