Bank of America CEO joins ranks of bankers warning about AI risk from 'Mythos'
Odaily Planet Daily News Brian Moynihan, CEO of Bank of America, has joined a group of Wall Street leaders in expressing serious concerns about artificial intelligence models like "Mythos" developed by Anthropic. "This marks a huge shift in workload, as well as the speed at which these tools can impact system vulnerabilities and how quickly we must respond," Moynihan said. In recent months, the rapid evolution of AI models has prompted the financial industry and the U.S. government to assess potential threats.
Anthropic claims that the Mythos model, launched earlier this year, has demonstrated strong performance in identifying system vulnerabilities. Bank of America is one of the Wall Street institutions authorized to use Mythos, employing the model to test its own systems and share information with peers. Currently, the model is not yet available to the public; Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, warned earlier this week that broadly opening the system to the masses would be as dangerous as "giving ballistic missiles to individuals."
